how to make your husband go wild!

wild in a good way, of course.

They say that food is the way to a man's heart. And I don't know about your husband (literally, I really don't know your husband), but this is completely true for my man. And what does my man love more than steak and potatoes? Very few things, my friends. Very few things.

I can't take credit at all for this little doo-dad. I got these ideas from Pioneer Woman. Woman's a genius. She combines food with photography (heck, my two favorite things!) and blogs about it. Does it get any better?!

Today I'll be giving you my new favorite tips on how to cook a rockin meal of steak and potato bundles (more on those bad babies later on!)

Step 1: Go to your commissary and get a huge jumbo steak for $3. (Or go to Walmart or Kroger and pay triple the price, sadly...)

Step 2: Come home, heat your skillet (What?! A skillet?! Yes. We don't have a grill.. sadly) and melt some butter on the skillet in preparation for your huge, jumbo steak!

Step 3: Season your steak with Lawry's Seasoned Salt and some Montreal Seasoning (optional. Do whatever you want, but this really works for us!)

Step 4: Stick it on the stove and let the magic happen.

Step 5: Right before you think your steak is looking good enough to come off, put a few dabs of butter on the steak and let that yummy nectar melt!

Step 6: Put it on your plate and salivate. But don't salivate on your plate. Ew.

to see her delicious steak!

but, of course, potatoes have to accompany steak! so today we'll be making potato bundles. a neat little idea I saw on Pioneer Woman's site!

Step 1: Find a potato. Wash it. Put it on your cutting board.

Step 2: Slice and dice, baby! But not too much. Like, little chunks. Ya know. Yeah.

Step 3: Put your diced potato in some aluminum foil.

Step 4: Find an onion. Slice and dice some more, baby! And don't be shy, because these onions will come out of the oven ROCKING and being nothing short of AMAZING!

Step 5: Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley.

Step 6: Drizzle a little heavy cream over them. Not too much. Not too little.

Step 7: Add some slices of butter, naturally. And make Paula Deen proud!

Step 8: Wrap it up and throw it in the oven for 45 minutes at 375 degrees!

But, naturally, Pioneer Woman said it better. Because it is her recipe. She rocks!

My steak was swimming in juices. I've never, in my life, eaten a juicer steak. Not at Longhorn. Not at Texas Roadhouse. Never. It was perfect. And those little potatoes? Heavenly, I'll tell you! This little meal will drive your husband wild! He'll never look at your the same. Actually, Mark barely gave me two glances as we ate our meal together. He was glued to his steak. I had barely eaten 3 bites, and his plate was empty.

Success.

Happy grilling, folks!

  1. This makes me want a steak from Rafferty's. Not the one in BG. The one in E-town. It's the bomb, you know.

I will, however, be trying out those potatoes most likely. Yum! Potatoes are my favorite food ever.

  2. I used to *LOVE* Rafferty's!! It was my favorite restaurant growing up! :) Soooo good! Are they the exact same in Etown & BG? Like, as far as menu goes and stuff? I've only ever been to Etown for Bible Quiz :) I don't get around much ;) but after making this blog, I *had* to have the potato bundles, so I made them for dinner with grilled chicken! mmm! Mark puts a dollop of sour cream on them -- didn't you say Chris was a sour cream eater (or lover)? but I like them just the way they are.. I bet BB would love them! :)

  3. I'm sure they are the same. I haven't heard good things at all about the Rafferty's in BG. Like, the food is bad & stuff. But the one in E-town is yummy! :)

I'd totally slather those potatoes with ketchup and gobble them up! YUM!

And yep, Chris loves sour cream, he'd probably eat them like Mark!
