Ah, my dear old friend... it's been much too long. I have really missed you. I know I haven't seen you since last year, but you've been on my mind! Now that I've finished my last paper of the semester, I'm all set to spend lots and lots of time with you. I'm looking forward to the hot and sweaty days you have in store for me. I can't wait for all the trips we have planned together! You have been such great friend for the past 21 years.
I'm sorry to say that this might be my last gung-ho-free time with you before I become a real adult. By this time next year, I'll have something I refer to as "responsibility." I am not looking forward to that at all. But we won't think about that this year, will we? Definitely not. I am so glad that you have finally arrived.
Please bring me lots of sun. Teeny amounts of rain. Lots of lightning bugs. Teeny amounts of heartache. Lots of marital joy. Teeny amounts of strain. An abundance of love and laughter and absolutely zero sorrow. You are much too fun for that.
