.. of our first home :)
Can't wait to get Piper out on that little patch of grass! Then, when the sun is going down, all 3 of us will take walks along the little side walk throughout the neighborhood. Ahh. Fun times lie ahead (or lay ahead?!).
My friend Cathy (who has invited us to Waters Edge Church, which we are ECSTATIC ABOUT), told me that we are on a corner lot and we have a large backyard. You know, for the kiddos and Piper to romp around in.
It has occurred to me that I will not have internet connection for a while once we move into our house. What the fudge will I do!? I'll have to figure something out. And if I'm forced to go to a library just so I can update you hooligan bloggy readers, then by golly, I will!
Doesn't living in a big blue house by the beach just seem peachy to you?!

ReplyDeleteAhh!!!! :) that whole thing is your house?!? I love it!!!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI love your new house. It's beautiful! :) LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteSOOOO pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteMemory Lane for me, it looks SOOO much like our first house just across the bridge from you guys at Ft Eustis!!! I love it , and I know you guys are going to make so many wonderful memories there!! So excited for you and the future!!!
ReplyDeletethose are decent looking homes. The entire thing isn't her house no, that building contains two homes, if you look far right you see another car port, that side will be her neighbors 3 bedroom home. Those are set up just like the ones here at Hickam, though here at Hickam, they are more run down because they were built in 1939, and cannot be torn down due to historic value. Grats on your guys new home though, hope you enjoy it.

ha, yes. I texted her and told her :] It cuts right down the middle. We're so excited! And happy to be really really close to the water, on a corner lot, and have a big back yard! Sounds great to me!
ReplyDeleteyea you guys should enjoy that. i hope you like langley. I have never been there but heard good things. As a headquarters base though, I told mark to be prepared to see plenty of officers all the time. Its just like Hickam in that aspect. We had 6 4 star generals here today for a change of command, not to mention the hundreds of others that show up from 3 star to colonel. Kind of annoying at times, but no worries. Enjoy the beach and weather while you can, it will get cold before you know it.
ReplyDeletejon
eww I know.. yuck!!!! We're kinda bummed out about that. We wish we were going to Langley like in May.. so we'd have the whole summer to enjoy the beach. Unfortunately we're going RIGHT in hurricane season and fall is right around the corner. Nuts!!!
ReplyDeleteI really really hope we like Langley. I want to stay there for as long as possible!
well if you dont like it, after 1 year he can apply for orders and go elsewhere. unfortunately the easiest way to get orders is to go remote, and if he does that, you cant go. However the bright side to a remote is, you get to choose the base after that, and you get free plane tickets for you and mark to fly round trip back home to visit. so there are perks to doing a 1 year remote. I did one to korea and it was just fine. candi went to kentucky to live, and i came home for a month, 6 months into my korean tour. then we chose to come to hawaii afterwards. its not that bad. just a year apart AGAIN is annoying. If you wind up not liking langley though, it could be an option for you.
ReplyDeleteJon
wow.. so you're TOTALLY guaranteed for that base? And you get to come home for a month during the 1 year thing? So it really isn't a FULL year apart, right? It'd be like 6 months apart and then another 6 months apart? :\ That still sounds yucky. Especially if we have a child by then. And.. we probably will... I don't see a huge chance of us hating Langley because it's on the coast and it's an awesome area to live at. So the only chance of us hating Langley is if Mark absolutely can't stand his shop. or whatever :) Let's just hope that doesn't happen.
ReplyDeleteEveryone I've talked to who is at Langley now has told me that you can stay there as long as you want.. 18 years if you want. I *know* Mark is dying to go overseas... but I would really hate for him to have to spend 1 year apart from me and our family to do so. That just.. sucks. Plus, we are only 11 hours away from family at Langley. That isn't bad at all. Sure beats being stationed in Washington state or something clear across the country!
wow, that was a huge comment :) anyway, thanks for all the tips!!! you're great!
