Ikea love

Mark is so hands-on. He can put anything together in a flash, and I love him for it. Today we went to Trader Joe's, and it was fantastic. We got paper bags full of organic stuff, and we're in love. With the store. And, well, with each other. But I'll save that for another post.

As promised, here's what we bought at Ikea:

The chair is called a Poang chair, and it bounces -- it doesn't rock or glide. We don't exactly have a baby yet, but we bought it for the future. I definitely know that babies like to be bounced, and this seat was just too cheap to pass up. It's comfy, it's cute, and we love it.

We also got a computer desk! We had to stuff it in our living room because our entire house only has two cable hookups. One in the living room & one in our bedroom. Well, there's no chance of a computer desk squeezing by our bed. It matches our tv stand and bookcase, and we love it -- especially because it doubles as another bookcase, which provides more storage (and room for more pictures of my nephews!).

Since the computer desk arrived, we had to move our bookcase to the other side of the room:

What's in store for tonight? Meatloaf and a potatoey-mushroom soupy-sour creamy-cheesy thing. Then Kindergarten Cop and Juno in bed on our laptop. We're trying to enjoy the "quiet time" without Piper. But it was definitely my husband who almost cried this afternoon when he was upstairs from missing Piper so much. We're, uh, sorta attached.

  1. That chair is so neat! And I love that little pumpkin on your table. Too cute!

I'm glad you're getting Pi back tomorrow. We are dropping Lily off at the vet tomorrow to be spayed, and we won't get her back until Tuesday. :[

  2. Hehe. We could NOTTTT find fall decorations besides ones like.. ghosts and witches and black cats. Errm no thanks!!!!! So we just decided to stick a pumpkin on our table for a centerpiece ;) Ha. I do like SOME Halloween decorations. But, actually, we don't have a single Halloween decoration.. now that I think of it.. except 2 pumpkins and orange lights. Hm, anyway.

Sooo sad about leaving Lily! I wonder how she'll do being spayed.. similar to Bindi, I'd guess. I don't remember my previous dog getting neutered at ALL, so I really don't know what to expect. We don't know when we're going to breed Piper. Probably soon.. maybe.

  3. HA! Shannon! Read the last paragraph in your comment...that's why I asked you about breeding! Silly! :) I'm assuming you meant to say "spay" instead of "breed." Hehe!
