Dear Virginia: A Poem

Dear State of Virginia,
You're so different from my home
Twelve hours away
Now I'm in a new time zone.

Your streets are full of traffic
the cars, well, there are tons
I never want to drive your streets
It seems scary and no fun.

There are interstates on every corner
and it's so different from K-Y...
When we mess up, we get evil stares
as mean people pass us by.

It feels like a vacation
with the beach, the sand and the shore
You've got the best shopping around
There's just so much to explore.

Dear Virginia, you're a mystery
I don't even know your motto
But I know from your many billboards
that there's a current $38 million lotto.

What's your state bird? Your song?
What is your biggest industry?
Dear Virginia, weird Virginia,
you will always be a big mystery.

So far you're one big blob
and I don't really like you yet
but I think I'll give you a chance
since we already found a vet.

Piper seems to like it
so I guess I will try, as well
This poem really had no purpose
in case you couldn't tell.

I did some researching so I could be a good citizen of this weird state.

Our state motto: Sic Semper Tyrannis (Thus Always to Tyrants)

....how weird..

  3. I hope you find a little bit of yourself at such a wonderful base. We TDY'd there several times and I have great memories from those visits.
