Confessional.

I love cokes. Remember that Weight Loss 101 post I wrote a while back? Yeah? Remember how I advised yall to give up cokes because they were empty calories? Yeah... I did give them up for a year. Then I re-discovered them. Oh boy. I love each and every one of those 150 calories. Liquid gold. Absolutely. Dr Pepper is good in the morning at work, with a Healthy Choice lunch, with an afternoon snack, or at suppertime! It's horrible. and I KNOW they're awful for me. I just can't stop. While I'm confessing, I'll admit the truth: I don't care. They taste good, and that's all that matters.

I don't care what your advice is concerning when M and I should start our family. Please don't give it to me. Whether you're up for us starting our family now or waiting until my eggs have cobwebs, I don't want your advice. Really. Maybe I don't want to go skydiving, travel to the depths of an exotic rain forest, or climb Mount Everest. Maybe my dreams are to be a Proverbs 31 Woman, which includes being a mommy! Just maybe. Also, being a career-driven woman is not in my priorities. Work does not drive me. It never has, and it never will. There are more important things in life than getting a big, fat paycheck. Investing in lives, for example, ranks higher on my list.

I strive to be the best in my class. This is one I'm embarrassed to admit. I love outdoing everyone in class. It's horrible. It's not so much that I-want-an-A-and-I'll-do-whatever-it-takes-to-get-it. It's more of an I-want-the-HIGHEST-grade-in-the-class. Honestly, it all boils down to the fact that I thrive off of praise. Some kids are like that. I'm one of them. You know, the kind that don't need a sucker for doing well on a test, but a good, honest "GREAT JOB!!" makes me beam.. ? That's me. I was like that as a kid, and I'm still like that today. I won't go into details of how I painted an entire poster of the water cycle for a teeny, tiny project. That would be absurd. But you get the idea. I'm an overachiever, and I love it. On a side note: I was NOT like this when I was a nursing major. I was the opposite, in fact. It was so hard - I would be thankful for a C! But now that I'm in special ed, and it's INSANELY easy, I love to be over-the-top. And, yes, that does include buying $8 cartoon school paper from Staples to make projects stand out. Ahem.

I am constantly thinking about my blog. I'm sure a lot of you struggle with this as well. I'm going about my day like a regular, sane adult. But in the back of my mind, I'm thinking "Is this blog material?" I'm also constantly scanning my short term memory for Not Me moments. Sometimes I live my life through blog moments. Each time I see my nephews, I generally have my camera out. This equals a lot of pictures. As yall know. I'm waiting for the PERFECT moment, the PERFECT picture, or the PERFECT story to post on my blog. Obsession? Why, yes... It is!

The other day, I accidentally called my nephew C. In real life. He was watching Max & "Ruvy" (Ruby). Glued to the television. Who can blame him? It was the Easter special. I was behind him & waiting to get him into the car. That's when I accidently shouted "C!!" ... Obviously, he didn't turn around. His name ISN'T a letter. Oopsie. I'll try to not let that happen again... A good aunt calls her nephews by their names, not by a letter.

I'm doing a lot better now that I can talk to M - pretty much whenever I want. Did you know that M and I text practically the whole day? Hallelujah for unlimited text!! We can also send pictures! While *I* think he is looking rather malnourished, he thinks he hasn't changed one bit! It's such a luxury for us to talk to one another. We really think it's the coolest thing ever that we can talk to our spouse! Let me tell you, nightly dates online really keep the romance alive! If you want to spice up your marriage, be separated for a while. That'll really get things rockin! ..You may thank me later for this little piece of advice!

I love eating fattening food. Since M left in January, I have re-discovered calories. I love them. Mexican calories. Japanese calories. Fast food calories... you name it! The good news is: You don't/can't gain weight if you're depressed. Didja know? I guess it's God's little way of compensating for yucky situations. Ha. Just kidding. But really. I've been eating like a little piglet, but I haven't gained an ounce.

I wish I could temporarily quit school. For serious. I am sooo over school. You have no idea. Unless you're in my block at school, then you understand. The only thing I've learned all year is how to administer the Woodcock Johnson. That's it. I really need a break. a LONG break. I'm not looking forward to transferring colleges. It will be terrible. It's a long story, but my current college is the only college in the state that certifies in ALL areas and ALL ages of special ed with ONE degree. What does this mean? I'm going to be in trouble when I transfer - my next college will probably only certify in ONE area, such as Learning Disability. Yuck. It's going to be a mess.

But I know that all of you can't wait to follow me through that mess.
It will be a fun journey.
I promise.

  1. I've tried to get Chris to stop his cola addiction, but it was so hard that I gave up. And now I just drink them with him. Hmmph. So, don't feel bad about that.

I'm glad we're on the same page about starting families & having babies.;]

I am an absolute perfectionist in school. Well, in just about everything.

Blog addictions are probably more common than any of use realize.:]

Do you remember when MckMama posted and said she called her husband Prince Charming in real life? How cute.

I'm so thankful M has more freedom in school & you can talk more often. Your marriage is so encouraging to me. If Chris and I ever spend time apart, I know who I'm coming to.:]

Chris and I ate Arby's for dinner, and I asked him why fast food is so good. And then I started naming all the fast foods that I like. Ha.

I can't wait to start school back up. But I am sorry about the problems you'll encounter with transferring. Uugh. Why does this college have to be the only one with your degree? How lame.

  2. you are up late, girlfriend!! my eyes are BARELY staying open :]

Now that you mention it, I do remember MckMama calling her husband PC in real life!! HA!! It's easy to do...

I really do love school.. I just have a LOT going on in my life. So school is put on the back burner. WKU is like super strict about teaching - because it was originally made to be a teaching college! I dunno, but I want my degree in ALL areas so I can teach whatever I want. idk if that makes sense or not - since you aren't a sped major... but basically, the more stuff i'm certified more, the more options i have. options area always good!

i met a man at tate page today who's currently in the air force (weird) and he was like OMG if you're a spec ed teacher, you will be like GOLD to the air force!! they will pay me a TON since i'll be a government employee!! and I'll get priority! :D how exciting.

  3. Cokes. As do I. Well, DP. But yes, I do. Oh, and I haven't had anything but diet in a whole week. Yay me!

Sorry. I said something about you guys making cute babies. I wasn't trying to rush :(

I strive to be the best too. But only, I'm sorry, I mean ONLY when I care about the assignment. If I don't care, then it's just that. I don't care. I should probably work on that.

And hey. Brittney is right. I'm constantly thinking about my blog too. Literally. My friends make fun. But I so don't care.

About your dates, and you being apart, I love that you guys are taking advantage of this.

...Uhh, Calories are my best friend. Fur shurrr.

I SO feel ya on that last one. Most def. But you'll be the best little teacher out there :)

  4. Why is it that people are constantly asking about personal stuff? If you date someone for a long time, they ask when you are getting married. As soon as you get engaged, they want you to have a date. As soon as you have a date, they start asking plans for children. As soon as baby number 1 comes, where's baby 2?

I feel your pain and I'm sure it is much worse for you now that you are married. I actually have CUSTOMERS that come in, ask when I'm getting married, and give me their thoughts on when I should have a kid. They also ask me if the photos of my niece are my child, and then respond with "Well I thought you were awful young to be a Mommy..." Crazy people!! :)

Praying for an easy college transition for you.

  5. Amen to people minding their own business! Geezzzzz. I've yet to come up with a good sarcastic remark in the moment either.

And lucky duck on not gaining weight while being depressed. Opposite for me typically haha.

And finally....yay that you can text/talk to your husband! You guys make me smile :)
