death no longer has mastery over Him: Eastery events 2009

this Easter, we played with a lot of toys
the ones from the care package from Christine & Paige.
You know, from THIS post.

It was bizarre..
..telling C to run up and grab as many toys as he wanted.
We had a blast with the whoopie cushion.
We called it the "tooter," since he does not know/use the word "fart"
but it's really hard to get a picture of something under someone's butt
so we don't really have any pictures of that.
But here's the rest of our day. Enjoy!!

We began with the Sea Capsules.
(on a side note, here is C in his Easter outfit.
He took it off before I had a chance to take pictures!! drat!!!!!!)

we stuck, like, 5 capsules in 1 glass :|
it didn't say not to...

how sneaky does he look?!

okay, folks. this is the best food in the universe:
Hashbrown Casserole

the 2nd best casserole in the world:
Sweet Potato Casserole!!!!!!

here's a sneak peak at the mommy of C&H!
She is rarely shown in my blog, so here she is in her shining moment:
Love you, sis!!!

holy moly
that is one CUTE kid

yes, H, I was talking to you!

"Oh, Shannie, you are hilarious with your camera!!"
-H
[that's what he really said!!!]

I just wanted to get one of his whole outfit:

the glow sticks were a huge hit.
this was after the "glow stick dance"

no, really. a huge hit. even with the adults!
..okay, just me.

the absolute worst picture of me & my nephews ever taken.
thanks, sister!
(Note: C has 2 glow sticks in his toes. Later on, during this
"photo shoot" he had his toes in my face wagging
the glow sticks around like a wild man from Borneo!)

Time for the Easter egg hunt.

I did not force him to re-create this picture.
I did not scream, "Cover your eyes! BOTH HANDS! NOW!!!!!"
...okay, I did. Cute though, right? And I screamed it with love, I promise.
[note: we did use M's military basket because C didn't bring his own to my house!]

C in formed me that it's against the rules to hide 2 eggs near the same spot
oops. that's why it's important to read the Easter Egg Hunt Rulebook 2009.
sorry, C.

like I said,
the glow sticks were a huge hit:

sometimes, when we aren't used to blowing bubbles
because it hasn't been warm in 7 months,
we accidentally inhale on the bubble pipe..
..and swallow a ton of bubbles.
then we nearly barf:

but we quickly recover.
even though we have bubbles in our hair:

happy Easter, yall.

even though Easter isn't about bubbles
or sea capsules
or hashbrown casserole...
it's still really fun.

Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

  4. Chris must be the only person in the world who can't hold something between his lips & nose. He always makes me hold stuff with my lips because he's so amazed by it. I can't wait to show him these pictures!
